Do Not Buy Into These "Trends" Concerning Item Upgrader

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats are increased in value. This value is the total of all of its leveled up benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average level of the item can be found on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it will be able to deal. The item level can also be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are several theories about how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values, and also that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the value of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another way to change the stats of an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by adding a name.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item by a specific stat or reroll affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. Like base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to  upgrade item s. It merely gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is thus more useful in the initial game run than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
